Mother's Day Tea
This morning Abby's class hosted a beautiful Mother's Day Tea for their mommies and it was so sweet! They decorated the tables beautifully with flowers and with gifts that they had made, and they sang us songs. They were dressed to the nines and served us from the time we got there until we left. It was so precious and such a treat! I feel so lucky to be Mommy to two such amazing kids!

Helotes Cornyval
Last week we went out to the Helotes Cornyval with some of our team from the NW Campus. Helotes is a small town just up the road from us, and we had heard about the Cornyval before, but never went. I gotta tell you, we had a great time! Great food, lots of fun, and good people. It was great to be able to hang out with some of our team (see more pics, etc. here or here) and the kids had a blast!

Yes, as near as I can tell, that's Aaron. :)

Loose Tooth
Well, it's finally happened. After months and months of Abby constantly telling us that she has a loose tooth... she finally [really] has a loose tooth.
She's been so excited for this day for a long time. And of course now...
she's nervous
and scared. :)

Update [5.5.10]
I haven't been so great at blogging life lately. Thinking back on it, this move has really messed with my routine and overall life balance for not weeks, but months. I'm kinda ready to settle into "normal" again, whatever that looks like. (I have a feeling it may be years with all the change that is about to take place!) I'm pretty behind on work stuff still, but getting there. For me, that's when it gets really hard to balance things, especially working from home. But I'll find my rhythm. In the mean time, I wanted to update on what's been going on around here lately.
-Phase one of my kitchen is getting closer and closer to being done.

-Made a trip to IKEA a couple days ago and got new office furniture, as well as some other great finds (like a $25 coffee table).
-Got started on the library/reading nook at the other end of the living room and I love it! Just gotta paint (I'm open to suggestions!), some great chairs or couch, a cushion and pillows for the top of the window seat, and finish filling/decorating the shelves!

-Finally took down the two horrible brass chandaliers (I use that term loosely) in the kitchen and dining area! Yaaay!
-Spray painted said chandaliers and put the pink one in Abby's room and the purple one is going in my laundry room. :) They came out cute!
Okay, I just realized I only updated about house stuff. Can you tell I'm a little consumed at this point?! LOL
There really has been other stuff going on too (some of which will have their own blog posts)...
- Aaron turned 31 last week!
- Abby turns 6 today!
- We went to the Helotes Cornyval last week with some of our NW Campus team and had a great time!
- Shot a gorgeous wedding.
- Spent time with lots of different friends and had a great time!
- Watched God provide in the big and little things. (A very cool thing to let Him do for you.)
- Prayed with my husband.
- Gave lots of hugs.
- Began going through a [Bible Study] teacher's training with a great group of ladies.
- Felt thankful for our church.
- Caught up with a good friend on the phone.
- Was blessed by a neighbor who left a hanging plant on our porch with a really sweet note.
- Was challenged.
- Enjoyed my family.

- Fell in love with my camera... again.
- Was stressed, tired, and emotional. :)
- Drove backroads. Picked flowers.

Kitchen In Progress
We've been in our house 2 1/2 weeks and I finally bought paint yesterday! I'm so excited to finally get some sort of decor going on. Don't get me wrong, the house is nice, but it's so PLAIN.
Project #1: KITCHEN
Love our kitchen. There's lots of room to work and I love all the natural light that comes in.
Before:
Now:
There's still lots I want to do to it (like toss the brass light fixture), both short and long term, but having color on the walls makes me happy!

My Little Girl
My little girl is growing up. Last night when I asked her to smile for a picture, this is what I got. It made me laugh. Love this girl!

Aaron's 31st Birthday
Today my wonderful husband turned 31. His birthday happened to fall on a Monday, which is nice because it's his day off. Abby stayed home from school because she still wasn't fully recovered from feeling sick... plus she really did not want to miss out on ANY of Daddy's birthday.
The kids and I started off the morning and went to get special breakfast food, a birthday present, and then the kids each got to pick out presents for Aaron at the $1 store. They got to choose all by themselves, so the selection was interesting... air freshener for his truck, a hand held fan, a puzzle book, and Reese's peanut butter cups. They had fun getting to choose and buy on their own.
We came home and spent the day together, then that evening, Jason, Natalie, Jackson, and Reagan came over and took us out to eat to celebrate. As always, we had a great time hanging out with them and the food at BJ's was great!
After dinner, we just went driving around and then went to check out Government Canyon near our house. Then we came home to open gifts and play games. The kids had found Pin the Tail on the Donkey at the store that morning and were exceedingly curious. We actually had TONS of fun playing. It was good for lots of laughs for us all.
I am so thankful for Aaron...
for the man of God that he is,
for making me laugh (even when I don't want to),
for the way he always takes care of me,
for the Daddy that he is,
for his passion and excitement,
for being completely unlike me,
for loving me,
and so much more!
I love you!
