It's Baseball Season

Spring is here and that means so is baseball! Carson missed baseball season last year because we totally dropped the ball (no pun intended). He didn't mind, and he spent a lot of time skateboarding instead (which he loved), so it was all good--but he's happy to be back in the game this season.

This year, he's number 7 for the Braves, and has an awesome coach, Coach George. So far, we've loved watching him play every game! Looks like we're about halfway through the season right now, so there's more great baseball to come!

Carson is #7. He was getting ready for his first game.

Three generations of Baseball.

Big League Weekend

As you may know, we're a baseball family. More specifically, we're an Astros family, so when Aaron heard about Big League Weekend here in our very own San Antonio, he was ordering tickets. Last weekend, we drove downtown to the Alamodome where we met Ammie, Poppy, Jason, and Jackson to watch the Astros play the Rangers. We all had a great time, AND the Astros won!

Week at a Glance (4/16/13)

Life has been going great lately, moving along faster than ever. I want to forever treasure the everyday moments that make up our life as a family, and this is it lately...

-Dinner and Jackson's ball game with the other Powers family in New Braunfels on Tuesday night was a blast!

-I had Women's Retreat with our church as well as RCCC Central and River City New Braunfels, and it was a great time! As introverted as I may be, I enjoyed catching up with old friends and getting to know new ones. It was nice to have a little time to reflect and recharge as well. I have so much to be thankful for!

-While I was at Retreat, Aaron and the kids went to the lake with the Fox's! They, of course, had a blast.

-Saturday was a happy time of being all together again. We enjoyed pizza at Rome's together and talked and laughed. Another great week in the books! So thankful for our family!

Carson's First Hit & Game Ball

Today was Carson's third baseball game, and he finally got is first hit! (Two hits, actually. And he scored twice.) He was so excited the first time coming around third that he forgot to touch the plate. He just stood there behind the base smiling and being excited while all of us in the stands were shouting "TOUCH THE PLATE! TOUCH THE PLATE!" Thankfully, no one with a ball was anywhere close, and he did eventually touch it. It was too cute. He was so proud!

After the game, Carson was beyond thrilled when Coach Mike announced that the game ball would be given to Carson for his two hits! He still hasn't stopped talking about it.

What made the day even cooler is that Ammie, Poppy, Aunt Natalie, Uncle Jason, and his cousins all got to be there to watch and cheer him on! He was so happy to see everyone there. All in all, a fantastic way to spend a Saturday morning.

Baseball

I haven't blogged much lately, but I swear I'll catch up soon. It's one of those seasons where there's so much going on, I want to document it all well, but it just ends up NOT getting done. Ah, well... so goes life. But today was a big day -- it was Carson's first baseball game! He's been so excited for this day, and has been thinking and talking about it non-stop. He has really enjoyed the past couple weeks going to practice (although there was really only one or two practices before today) and spending time with his Daddy playing ball in the afternoons. Here are a few pics from today. I'm sure you'll be seeing many more as the season rolls on!
