Today I had the opportunity to be a part of a really cool Creative Arts/Ministry conference, The Green Room. The speakers were inspiring and helpful, and there's something cool about gathering with a community of artists. We "get" each other. :) Probably my favorite was a talk given by Dewitt Jones. He was amazingly inspiring, happy, wise... and of course talented (to be a photographer for National Geographic, you'd have to be, right?!). One of my favorite quotes from him was, " Creativity is a moment where what we see is extraordinary." He talked a lot about just seeing things with new eyes and taking in the wonder that is all around us. "Celebrate what's right with the world." I don't do that enough.
There's still lots to process, but all in all, it was a great day that made me fall more in love with what I do and helped me to get a vision for how art can make a difference in people's lives.
