Lately, things have been good. Crazy at times. Uncertain at times. But good.
Now that the busy first half of summer is over, we've been able to get back into the rhythm of our summer family days. Despite the heat, we've been spending a lot of time outdoors enjoying each other and God's beautiful creation. It's been so much fun!

-Aaron and I finally celebrated our anniversary last week. We went tubing on the Comal River, and then had dinner at the Huisache Grill in New Braunfels. In the midst of all the craziness in the weeks before, I had been very much looking forward to a night with just the two of us, and it did not disappoint!
-Abby's been doing well. She had a wonderful time with Mattie and Grandaddy a couple of weeks ago. While she was there, she set up a booth at one of the local trade days and sold miniature plants she'd planted to raise money for kids with cancer. I was so impressed with her generosity. We had suggested she earn money for her to go to Girl Scout camp, but she didn't want to use it for herself, but to help others. Sweet girl!
-Next week we're heading off to youth summer camp with our church. Aaron is the camp speaker this year. The whole family's really looking forward to it. I've kinda missed the whole summer camp thing since we left youth ministry.
-I'm still running and training for a 5k! The kids went running with me last night and they loved it! AND they kept up with me the whole way. I was incredibly impressed.
-Carson is also doing well. He's been funny to hang out with over the past few weeks, because he's been working on perfecting his laugh. He has a friend who he thinks has a "cool" laugh, and he's been trying to match it. So he's always laughing. Pretty hard not to laugh right along with him. We got to hang out with our good friends, the Davis', today, and Kyle taught him how to shoot a paintball gun. He had a great time with that until he accidentally shot an elementary school custodian in the distance. I felt terrible, but at the same time I couldn't stop laughing. (After I finished apologizing, of course. He was pretty far away, so it didn't really hurt him, just REALLY surprised him.) Maybe you had to be there.
